Office tower siding and Adams roof

Problem description

Wooden (T-111) siding and fascia on the office tower and Adams hall is deteriorating from water damage.  Shingles on tower and on portions of the Adams hall roof visible from the sanctuary have reached the end of their life.  Roof sheathing on the office tower is too thin, and there are vents on the Adams roof that may no longer be needed.

Proposed work

Replace all T-111 siding on the office tower and Adams hall with a more water-resistant substitute (stucco sheets?), and add a 6" overhang to help reduce future siding damage.  Replace asphalt shingles and inadequate roof sheathing on tower and Adams hall.  Eliminate roof vents if unused, or replace with less obtrusive vents.

Projected cost

$12,000

Expected timing

Fall 2002
