Room At The Inn is a shelter for homeless families in St. Louis County. Since 1992, over 400 families have been helped. The families spend their day at the shelter's day site in Bridgeton. The shelter is sponsored by the Sisters of the Divine Providence and served by 65 area churches. Eliot Chapel participates in this program through its Social Action Committee. Eliot Chapel recruits volunteers to help with this important program every Thursday evening, except the fourth Thursday of the month. Volunteers drive to the day site, pick up their guests and bring them to their church, where the guests are fed dinner. Other volunteers spend the night at the church with the guests. After breakfast, guests are returned to the day site. Eliot Chapel was the first church to receive guests. We need volunteers to drive, cook, host, and do laundry.
