Kalen was elected to the board in 2021. Kalen has been a member at Eliot since 2013. She volunteered to teach RE classes and joined a covenant group. She also helped lead the Religious Education Parent and Caregiver Group as part of a larger effort to find new ways to build community within Eliot. During quarantine she helped organize a virtual open mic night for Eliot members. Kalen worked as a journalist and director of marketing for a community education program before deciding to be at home full time after the birth of her third child. She values transparency, clarity, and always asking the hard questions. Kalen and her husband, Chris, are parents of three energetic kids, Clark, 8, George, 6, and Alba, 3. Kalen enjoys yoga, running, gardening, and spending time in nature with family.
