The Board of Trustees met tonight in Adams Hall for our April 2024 meeting. We chatted about the budget for 2024-25 church year. We are in good shape as we finish up our stewardship drive. Members have pledged $619,000 for the new year and there are 69 pledging units whom have not yet pledged. Volunteers will be following up with those members in the days to come.
Save the date of May 8 at 6:30 pm for a budget presentation from Treasurer Sue Bell on Zoom.
The board approved a new finance committee that will assist the treasurer with budgeting, financial policies, and financial decision making. The members will serve rolling four-year terms and will include former treasurers and other members of the congregation. Current members include Gary Gray, David B. Cox, and Tanya Hull.
The board also approved a new ministerial evaluation process that moves away from surveying the congregation as a main evaluation tool to a more holistic method that includes strategic feedback from congregants.
We are working on a plan to update our policies and the way we evaluate whether we have followed those policies. The hope is that the new method will make it simpler and more straightforward process for the board.
Also, make plans to attend the May 19 annual meeting! More information to come about how to arrange for a proxy vote, but we will also have the opportunity for virtual voting via zoom.
