Immigration Justice Resource Fair

Consistent with our UUA commitment to a belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every person and justice, equity, and compassion in human relations, the immigration justice committee is focused on creating awareness and education about the issues facing refugees and asylum seekers looking for a safe place in the United States.

On Sunday, November 3, in Adams Hall from 10:15 to 11:30 am, the Eliot Chapel Immigration Justice Team is delighted to present the first Immigrant and Refugee Resource Fair! We have invited several organizations that serve immigrants and refugees to bring information about their purpose, how they meet the needs of the immigrant communities, and details of how their work is delivered to their clients. You can visit their tables set up in Adams Hall and talk to a representative of each organization to answer questions, describe the rewards of the work, and include volunteer signup sheets for you to indicate your interest in their work. If you are interested in how our community is helping immigrants and refugees and maybe want to be a part of this exciting and rewarding work, this is the place to be on Sunday, November 3!

During the fair, we hope to tap into the generosity of the Eliot community to donate items selected by the attending organizations. As we say in our worship service, may we be generous people. The following items will help each agency do their work helping families and individuals setting up their new lives.

Please bring your new or gently used contributions to Adams Hall during the Fair. Boxes will be available by the tables. Thank you for your generosity.
