There is a resurgence of energy and engagement at Eliot Chapel, with new groups forming, ongoing groups expanding, and various volunteer teams supporting the many facets of Eliot. To ensure these teams are equipped with all the tools they need to be as successful as possible, Reverend Krista, the Nominating Committee, and a few experienced leaders from the congregation have organized a series of workshops aimed to build and strengthen the lay leadership within the congregation. This work launches an investment in the current and future leadership of Eliot, leverages the wisdom, skill, and passions of members, and creates more ways for the people of Eliot Chapel to connect and develop meaningful relationships and roles.

These offerings will take place on the following Saturdays from 8:15 am – 12:30 pm:

February 15 - Team Formation and Leadership: Teams are groups of people, and all groups move through fairly predictable phases. Learn those phases, how you know where your team is in that process, and how the group evolves over time. Learn what the leader's role is and the skills needed for each phase of team development.

March 1 - Planning and Facilitation Tools for Leaders: Every team has projects and tasks. Learn a variety of skills and tools that will help you help your team be successful.

April 26 - Interpersonal Styles and Teaming:  We all have an interpersonal style - some of it we see clearly, and some may be hidden from our view. How does a leader's interpersonal style interact with leading and/or facilitating their team?

A light breakfast and coffee will be provided. The workshops will wrap up with a potluck lunch during a discussion and discovery period. We invite everyone to bring a dish to share.
