Our Community Helps the Honduran Family

Thank you to the Eliot Handyman Team member Jim Gender, who with his friend Kevin made the backyard safer for the Honduran family. They built a fence around the parking spot that was a couple of feet lower than the rest of the yard. And they put a gate in the gangway so that the kids can’t run to the street.

There are a few more ways you could help:

  • The family has spotted some snakes in their yard and they are afraid of them. The yard has vines and bushes that need to be cut to get rid of the places for those snakes to hide. If you have some extra yard tools, such as weed whacker, vine cutters etc. donating them would be gratefully accepted.

  • We are also calling for help from “two men and a truck.” A member in Kirkwood has a loveseat, a kids’ swimming pool, and a lawnmower that need to be hauled to the family. Can you help?

  • If you have a bike and a helmet for the 8 year old girl, we could load that in the truck, too.

Please contact immigration@eliotchapel.org if you can help! Thank you!
