Shared Plate: Ready Readers

STL Diaper Bank logo

Every Sunday, Eliot Chapel shares half of the offertory with an organization in the community whose work reflects our shared values. This is one way that we care for our community and our neighbors.

In September, Eliot Chapel will share its bounty with Ready Readers. Ready Readers sends trained volunteers into classrooms in low-income communities to read aloud to young children, sparking imaginations and building early literacy skills in preparation for kindergarten. They stock classroom shelves with new, high-quality books and provide books for each child to keep and enjoy at home. Together with community partners, they provide literacy-related experiences to extend kids’ love of reading beyond the classroom walls. Learn more at readyreaders.org.
