Eagerly Awaiting the Arrival of a Baby Girl

The Honduran family who has been supported by our Immigration Justice Team is eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new baby girl. Though Nancy Mariana is due December 15, all signs indicate that she is ready to come to this world any day now. Due to this accelerated time frame, the Immigration Justice Team has decided that instead of organizing a traditional baby shower, they have put together a wish list for the items that the baby and family needs. Please take a look at the registry link below and see what you would like to purchase. The default is to send it to Nancy Spargo but you can also bring the items to church this Sunday where there will be a box for the gifts.

The items don't need to be purchased at Target or even be new - gently used would be fine. If you acquire them from somewhere besides Target, make sure to check them off in the registry anyway. Here are a couple of comments/cautions:

  • Rocking chair: They only need one chair, but we listed two to have a choice in price. Any type of chair needs to support 300 pounds.
  • Any type of bouncer or swing needs to be checked for recalls if it is not new. Safety issues are common with them.

Also, if you are able/interested to share a prepared meal for them during the next three weeks, it would be welcome. Send a note to immigration@eliotchapel.org and we will create a Meal Train signup for the participants.

Every baby is a miracle, bringing hope and love. Let's give Nancy Mariana a warm welcome!
