Shared Plate: Forest Releaf, April 2025

Every Sunday, Eliot Chapel shares half of the offertory with an organization in the community whose work reflects our shared values. This is one way that we care for our community and our neighbors. We are very pleased that April’s recipient is Forest Releaf.

Forest ReLeaf of Missouri’s mission is to enrich communities by growing and planting trees through the power of people and partnerships.

This effort supports our vision of a more resilient tree canopy in Missouri’s communities that supports healthy people, healthy habitats and a healthy planet. In 1993, a group of tree lovers formed Forest ReLeaf of Missouri with the goal to provide free trees so that anyone could plant a forest in their community. Over the years, they have planted over 250,000 trees in Missouri.

Some of the recent accomplishments are: tree deliveries statewide, hosting a St. Louis City distribution event in partnership with Missouri State Parks at our future City Tree Farm at the Scott Joplin House State Historic Site, investing in tree stewardship by adding staff dedicated to supporting community planting projects through watering, mulching, and pruning trees, and responding to community residents’ requests for mature tree care.
